CAMPI YA KANZI
Begin the day with the aroma of Kenyan coffee or tea brought to your tent by your personal Maasai attendant before heading out on your morning walk or game drive. After your safari, return to camp for breakfast of fresh local fruit or a picnic breakfast in the middle of the savanna. Following breakfast, enjoy an escorted safari on foot or relax at camp. Guests can work with their guides to design each day's activities to suit their own style including game drives in the open Land Rover, Tsavo and Chyulu National Park excursions, Maasai cultural village visits, picnics, forest walks, escorted game walks, visiting the Trust projects, mobile camping, and scenic flights.
Crystal glasses, fine table settings, and candlelight dinners highlights the days activities. The chefs are trained in preparation of fine Italian cuisine including home-made fresh pasta, risotto, biscuits, bread, and more. The menu features a combination of international and local dishes with fresh organic vegetables, milk, and eggs daily. The wines come from South Africa and are specially bottled for Campi ya Kanzi.
Tembo ("Elephant") House is the heart of the camp as the club house for guests to intermingle, watch wildlife from the outdor terrace, read in the library, and take meals.
With a maximum of 14 guests in six thatched roof tented cottages, Campi ya Kanzi provides an intimate and relaxed setting. The rooms feature either twin beds or a king-size bed made locally, a table with two safari chairs, a colonial trunk, shelves and hangers, and daily fresh flowers. The two suites, Hemingway and Simba, feature king-size beds, a clothes room between the bedroom and bathroom, and double sinks. Each tented cottage has a wide veranda to provide superb views of either Kilimanjaro, the Tsavo Hills and the Chyulu Hills. All cottages are solar powered with 220-volt electricity.
