The Masai Mara is an extension to the Serengeti/Loliondo (Tanzania) ecosystem and is considered by many to be Kenya's best wildlife sanctuary, where animals can still be seen in vast numbers. The annual migration of the wildebeest of up to one million animals is most dramatic and must surely be considered one of the greatest wildlife spectacles in the world.
The Chyulu Hills are supposedly one of the youngest mountain ranges in the world. They are comprised of volcanic cones mostly covered with grass and extensive stands of forest. These hills are still relatively unexplored and except for the Masai, it is quite uninhabited. There is a Garden of Eden quality to its landscape with long dreamy panoramas of Mt. Kilimanjaro. The vast rolling plains are home to many different wildlife species. As part of the huge Tsavo National Park, one really feels the sensation of genuine wilderness.
