Australia: Tasmania - 6 Day Tasmanian Escape 4WD Tour

Experience one of Tasmania’s more customised and personalised tours, via your very own 4WD and guide. Undertake a journey into the quieter and less tourist trodden areas of Tasmania’s pristine wilderness.

Itinerary:

Day 1
Depart for Cradle Mountain where you will take the scenic board past an old forest and waterfall through to the visitors centre. For lunch the tour will head to Dove Lake, where a picnic will be taken on the shore of the lake, gazing up at the mountain. You will visit Waldheim Lodge and discuss history of the lodge and the region whilst venturing onto the Waldhiem Forest. After checking into your lodgings, you will have the opportunity to undertake a leisurely tour of the convict and mining based township of
Ocean Beach.

Day 2
After an early cruise on the Gordon River, the tour takes in an easy short walk on a boardwalk through an ancient rainforest. Guests will return via the infamous convict settlement of Sarah Island and the harbour known as Hells Gates, both to the convicts and sailors on the square rigged sailing ships. Upon completion guests will leave Strahan and travel to Derwent Bridge via the moonscape of Queenstown and time and weather permitting, a short easy walk in to Nelson Falls and on to Derwent Bridge for the night.
