Australia: Tasmania - Hobart: Coastal Calm 4 Days / 3 Nights - Cycle North to Freycinet

Suddenly the trail falls away and there's a vision of a pristine coastline that stretches your own horizons. Ride along the serene seaside and race against dolphins and whales. Around the next corner there are gourmet delights - the legendary lemon tart is pedal fuel. The glow of granite mountain peaks at sunset leads you to a hidden eco-lodge. You've been going on holidays all your life but this is your first true journey.

Day 1
From Hobart, travel by van to St Marys. Ride down the coastline to a picnic lunch at the sleepy town of Bicheno. Pass by the blowhole on your way to the turn off to Coles Bay and ride all the way to Freycinet National Park and your overnight accommodation at Freycinet Lodge

Day 2
Free day to explore the area on a beach walk to famous Wineglass Bay. Join the group after a sleep in, for a walk, then lunch on Wineglass Bay, the afternoon is yours to relax, ride to Friendly Beaches or play a spot of tennis. This evening join the twilight seakayak before a BBQ under the stars. Overnight: Freycinet Lodge.

Day 3
Early birds this morning can visit Cape Tourville on the bikes or after breakfast you can go in the van. Depart for Freycinet Vineyard then take a 20km ride into Swansea for lunch at the infamous Left Bank. After refuelling on the lemon tart, walk it off at Meetus Falls and ride the downhill back into Swansea all the way to your resort accommodation. Enjoy cocktails on the balcony of your private sandstone cottage before dinner. Overnight: Piermont Resort, Swansea B&B.

Day 4
A breakfast basket will appear at your self-contained cottage this morning, then we'll depart for a visit to Kates Berry Farm nearby. Commence the most scenic ride of all along the coastal road from Swansea to Mayfield Beach then continue towards Triabunna. Ride or take the support van and ferry to Maria Island National Park for a short visit. Explore painted cliffs and fossil rocks before return ferry to the mainland. Complete the journey in Hobart arriving at approximately 6.30pm.
