Australia: Wildlife Experiences: Australian Fur and Feathers in the Wild

Team up with an expert nature guide and track down large mobs of wild Kangaroos, discover wild Koalas (as part of a special Koala Research Project), and walk quietly beside wild Little Penguins as they emerge from the ocean in the evening. Day 1 Arrive in Melbourne
Arrive at Melbourne Airport and transfer to your hotel.

Day 2 Kangaroos and Koalas in the Wild (Savannah Walkabout)
This fascinating guided journey begins with a detailed introduction to Australian wildlife in the wild including large mobs of Kangaroos, Wallabies and rare birds in the open range grasslands of Serendip Sanctuary followed by a visit to a secret location to search for Koalas in the wild in the Brisbane Ranges National Park.

Day 3 The Little Penguins of Phillip Island
After a relaxing morning exploring Melbourne your guide will pick you up at your hotel in the afternoon (timing dependent on the time of year) for the drive to Phillip Island south-east of Melbourne. This island is famous for its large colony of the Little Penguins – the smallest penguin in the world – which come ashore in a delightful "parade" each evening at dusk. After taking in some of the great ocean views and wildlife habitats of Phillip Island you will join a small group of people and get close up and personal with the penguins as they walk from the sea to their burrows.

Day 4 Historic Churchill Island – transfer to Melbourne Airport
This morning your guide picks you up mid morning for a short drive to Churchill Island historic homestead. Run by the National Parks Service this homestead and its surrounding farm dates back to the first discovery of the Melbourne region so you can walk in the footsteps the early settlers in this part of the world.
