Day Two - At leisure
Today is free to spend doing as much or as little as you please
Day Three - Flinders Chase Focus Day Tour
After breakfast you will depart for your second day of touring. Flinders Chase National Park, a vast wilderness covering the western end of the island, is home to kangaroos, wallabies, possums, goannas, echidnas, koalas, platypus and many birds including rare Cape Barren geese. Visit Rocky River, site of an impressive visitor centre interpreting many facets of the park and its history. At Cape du Couedic visit a fur seal colony, which now numbers over 20,000 after being decimated by hunting in the early 1800's. These animals can be observed resting on the rocks or frolicking in the surf under Admiral's Arch, a spectacular grotto. Visit an historic lighthouse where three families provided an important navigation service, which is now automated. Along the coast explore Remarkable Rocks, huge natural sculptures on the cliff top. Good wines and local produce feature highly in the picnic lunch, which is enjoyed in the bush before exploring more of the island. Depending upon season the afternoon might include a visit to 'Grassdale' in the heart of Kelly Hill Conservation Park, the secluded pools of Rocky River or a visit to a rugged South Coast cove. At the conclusion of the tour transfer to Kingscote Airport to connect with return flights to Adelaide.
