Marjanna Akhtar
Founder and Owner
Marjanna’s interest in international travel began in the late ‘80s while pursuing her BA in animal biology at the University of Colorado, and she took her first underwater breath on scuba while on holiday in Mexico!
With degree in hand, and wanderlust pulsing in her veins, Marjanna’s passion for seeing wild things in wild places, and experiencing different cultures and ways of life fueled a travel career that spans over three decades. Beginning in 1990, with a specialization in the niche market of scuba diving and the destinations found in the South Pacific, over the ensuing years, she has evolved the business into world-wide destinations throughout Africa, Latin America, SE Asia and Europe, reflecting the diverse interests of the company’s growing clientele base. Her passion extends to family travel, having incorporated her son into international adventure travel from the age of 9 months.
When not on her desk, or traveling, you can find Marjanna enjoying the great outdoors – usually on the back of her horse - but also on foot - hiking and skiing - and overall enjoying the rural community where she lives in western Colorado with her husband and their 4-legged family.

Richard’s travel career began with a Life-Changing holiday to Tanzania. On his return home, he left London’s world of Financial Banking and spent a year traveling the expanse of the African Continent from the north to the south tip. Not long after, Richard, along with two partners, purchased a small lodge on a remote island in Fiji. Over the next two decades, they turned a local backpacking lodge into a leading eco-sustainable resort catering to an international market with world class scuba diving, maritime adventuring and authentic nature and cultural immersions on what is one of the least developed islands in the Fijian archipelago.
The 3 partners sold the resort in 2018, and Richard, who grew up in England and spent many years living in Fiji, started a new life in Colorado. With his travel and industry background, along with his technical skills, Richard supports the team behind the scenes!
