Many of the destinations in which we specialize offer exceptional birding with hundreds of species either endemic or migratory. Whether you are a casual “birdwatcher”, someone who passively watches birds as a casual hobby, or a more obsessed “birder”, someone who actively (even compulsively) pursues birds and keeps track of the pursuit with life-lists, awareness of birds while traveling tends to enhance your experience as they tie into the ecology and conservation of a given destination. Add in the challenge of trying to capture the perfect photograph with the bird in flight, the light in its eye or posing with a beautiful background and you’ll soon find yourself labeled a birder whether you are or not.
