Africa - Eastern and Southern

Africa is the world’s 2nd largest continent and is filled with diverse landscapes of deserts, mountains, rainforests, grasslands, and incredible wildlife. There are tropical beaches to rival the world’s best; dynamic cities that are veritable melting pots of traditional and modern cultures; camping to glamping to luxury lodges; and geological wonders.

It is here you find the largest desert in the world, the Sahara Desert; the longest river in the world, the Nile River; the world’s biggest inland delta, the Okavango Delta; the world’s largest and most powerful waterfall, Victoria Falls; the highest freestanding mountain in the world, Mount Kilimanjaro; and the world’s oldest desert, the Namib Desert. The continent hosts the world’s largest wildlife migrations – bats, wildebeest and zebras - the largest land animal, the African elephant and the fastest land animal, the cheetah.

But Africa is more than its landscape; it is a land of human spirit. Considered to be the origin of mankind, the “Mother Continent” is comprised of 54 independent countries with over 3000 tribes, and the beating heart of its people, with their rich traditions, music, and art, resonates through its cities, bustling marketplaces and remote villages alike.

It is a place to experience nature in its rawest form with amazing wildlife safaris, where the diversity of bird species are rarely matched, where the coastal waters teem with coral reefs and megafauna, where adventure abounds from climbing mountains to white water rafting, where equestrians will be hard pressed to choose which horse safari to do, where romance is found in luxury lodges to beach holidays and everything in between, a place for families to connect through life-changing experiences, where scenic flights, idyllic boat cruises and timeless train travel can be part of the journey, and throughout all lies the opportunity to connect to taste to discover different cultures and ways of life.

Africa will captivate the soul and trigger the imagination. It is a destination where every moment becomes a memory and leaves every visitor transformed.
